Prague castle, located in Hradcany (castle district) was next on our itinerary. Unlike most tourists, we took a slightly different route by getting off at the Hradčanská station instead of Malostranská.
It took us about 12 minutes (walk) from the train station to Prague Castle (Prazsky Hrad). Most of the time we had to make intelligent guesses based on the Czech signs.
We took the two-hour tour which costs 250 CZK per person (limited to key attractions like the Cathedral, St Wenceslas Vineyard and St George's Basilica) and 400 CZK to hire an audio guide.
Apart from the Cathedral, we also visited Basilica of St George (sorry no photography allowed) and the Golden Lane, which consists of many small shops selling souvenirs. The panoramic views of Mala Strana from Prague castle is nothing short of stunning, as shown below:
After visiting Prague Castle, we proceeded towards Mala Strana (Lesser Town) via St Wenceslas' Vineyard and visited St Nicholas' Cathedral and a church called Panna Maria. One of the many interesting sights we saw along our journey was a mini-truck selling beer and city tours in vintage cars.
St Nicholas' Cathedral is very grand and its internal designs are of Baroque influence. I've uploaded some pictures taken from inside the cathedral.
Next on our route was Charles Bridge (Karluv Most), one of the key attractions of Mala Strana. The bridge isn't very long, probably about 500 metres and laden with mini-stalls hawking souvenirs. The view from Charles bridge was very serene and relaxing, however I felt that it was overrated!
